Where will be be eating?  Someone suggested Bandera, is that the plan?  The reason I'm asking is that I have a friend that might ride with us, but will have to be home earlier than 12.  So she might ride to breakfast and then head home afterwards.

    Yes, invite friends.

Daryl - my wife is thinking about riding with me so it will be good to have other women along.  Besides if she sees Henrietta and your friend riding, maybe she'll hop back on her Rebel. (Not!) Smile

Think Lynn (not my wife) is going to go. she's the one that wanted to go to big bend with us, but broke her foot and couldn't ride.

Out of the blue, my wife suggested riding to Leakey on the 4th.  Boy was I surprised.  But after we talked about it, having to deal with the heat was more than she was up for.  But at least there's hope.....

My wife likes to ride when the weather is in that very narrow temp span that isn't too cold and not too hot.  I think that only happens three days during March.  Serously though, she likes to ride and I feel lucky she's interested.  She's got her liscense and I bought her a motorcycle but as others know she dropped it and lost her confidence.  So now she just rides on the back.

At least she rides and has a interest in it. My wife has no interest at all, even when I picked my bike out it was "hurry and decide". She was there just so I wouldn't over spend. I wish she would take and interest. She burnt her leg and had a bad experience on one when she was little, ever since then she has no desire to ride. maybe one day.

I had the opposite experience, I let my wife and daughter pick out my bike and they looked at every one of them on the show room floor.  It didn't matter to me. I knew I was going to enjoy it no matter which model was picked.

But I think the key is not to push them.  Riding is not for everyone and the more bad experiences they have the less they are going to like it. I got some really good advice from a female rider one time (which unfortunately I didn't follow).  If your wife likes to ride they will ask to go and will go out and buy the clothes themselves and maybe buy a bike themselves.  I think a lot of guys are so anxious for their wives to enjoy the sport with them that they go out and buy everything for them and then are disappointed when they show little or no interest.  Or worse, go out and buy their wife a bike in the hope they'll want to learn to ride it. I think lots of wives shy away from riding because they scare themselves while learning to ride or feel pushed to participate. We've got to let them take their time and figure out if it's for them.  BTW - I feel that the gals* who ride on the back or drive the SAG vehicle are just as much a part of the sport as anyone else.  Everyone can participate at whatever role they feel most comfortable.

*Guys drive SAGs too but it was awkward to put it in that sentence. Not that there's anything wrong with riding on the back.
