Valero Motorcycle Riders

It's not too early to get this on your calendar.  We'll be making the fall trip to Arkansas to enjoy the roads and hopefully the changing of the leaves as fall rolls into this area of the US.

Dates: Friday, October 16th (after work) thru Wednesday, October 21st

We'll depart San Antonio Friday afternoon and spend the first night in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area before working our way north through Oklahoma to enjoy the Talimena Scenic Byway (http://www.talimenascenicdrive.com/) and grab lunch at the Queen Wilhelmina (http://www.queenwilhelmina.com/lodge/).  Another motorcyclist attraction in this area is the Arkansas Pig Trail (http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/SouthEast/AR/AR_4.shtml)

I know it's early, but when do we need to reserve hotel rooms etc?

The rooms were booked when the first notification went out.  I've reserved the entire place (10 rooms) in anticipation of a good turnout.

Looking at the route above; John would laugh at our overnight stop in Dallas.  It is only 717 miles,  nothing for someone that has done over 1000 in a day.

Are you kidding?  I'll be the first one to the hotel!

I will be attending.  I am sure Michelle will be going too but need to finalize that.

I won't be attending. Saving days for Dec cruise.

Ok never have been to Eureka Springs before why there? just couriuos. and in October?

I've never been to Ark on a motorcycle either but I've been there on business and wished I were on my motorcycle. Lots of back country roads.  The Ozark Mountains are really nice.  Not as rugged as the Rockies but covered in lush foliage.  October is when, hopefully, the leaves will be turning so we should be able to see lots of color.  Oh, and twisty roads.

I 've been to Witter AR whichis just south of there, yes it's beautiful country, mountainous and twisty roads, but man that's a long haul on a bike, I just don't have a iron but yet.

Add Charlie to the running total.  I will be pretty much out of vacation at that point.  I will be going with Willie up to his school in MI,aka Great White North,  and flying back on the second, just in time for the MS Valero Alamo Ride to the River.
